Payments, Phone Orders, Sales Tax, Custom Sizing, Other | Arpaia Jewelry
We strive to make your online shopping experience as convenient and secure as possible. Accordingly, we use Shopify Payments and PayPal for secure payment processing at Checkout.
All funds are in US Dollars.
Once your chosen payment method is approved at Checkout, the total dollar amount of the order is authorized for payment.
The actual transfer of funds from your payment method to our business account does not occur until we are ready to ship your order. For example, if you place an order on Monday and it ships out on Thursday, your credit card or PayPal account will be debited until Thursday, the day your order ships out.
If the total amount of your order exceeds your charge limit or available Paypal amount, your order is automatically cancelled. Please retry placing your order with another payment method, or contact us to provide alternate payment instructions so that we may reinstate and process your order.
If for any reason you are not able to place an order online, please contact us for assistance. We will do everything we can to expedite your order, including payment, processing, and insured delivery of your order.
You may place a phone order (203) 772-4643 to:
- Pay by One or More Credit/Debit Cards. We are happy to take your phone order if you are not comfortable with using your credit card online, or if you wish to use multiple credit cards to pay for your order. To process your payment by credit or debit card, we will send you an email with complete invoice and supply a secure payment link.
- Pay by Money Order, Bank Check, or Wire Transfer. If you do not have a credit or debit card, or PayPal account, and need to pay by money order, wire transfer, or bank check, please contact us; we will gladly take your order over the phone (203) 772-4643 and provide you with payment instructions. If you wish to pay by personal check or business check, your order will not be shipped until payment has completely cleared our business account and the time for stop payment or return has expired.
- Place International Order. Payment of all international orders must be made by wire transfer in US Dollars to our business account. Upon request, we will send email with bank transfer instructions. We will process order within 3 business days after payment in full has been deposited to our account and any eligible time period for return has expired.
For phone orders, please leave a message if we do not answer phone, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Please also feel free to contact us by email with your order request, but please do not include any payment information in your email message since email is NOT secure. Instead, please leave your phone number and let us know a good time to call you to obtain payment information over the phone.
Sales tax is currently applied to all orders shipped within the State of Connecticut.
Connecticut imposes sales tax on all jewelry sales, jewelry services, and shipping. Individual jewelry items under $5,000 are each taxed at the 6.35% rate, while jewelry items $5,000 and over are each taxed at the 7% rate.
Sales tax jurisdictions applicable to this website may be added, deleted, and the rates may be changed without notice.
If state sales tax applies to your order, the amount of tax will be added during the checkout process.

Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. We reserve the right to cancel orders containing erroneous prices including those due to technical or administrative errors on our part.
We reserve the right to cancel any order or part of an order if an item is no longer available for purchase, regardless of whether due to error on our part.
Items that are currently out of stock, but are available for back order may take days, weeks, or even months to ship. We will contact you with the expected arrival date within 4 business days of ordering the backordered item. You will have the option of canceling the order at that time. Your credit card will not be charged until your item is ready to ship.
Due to the hand-fabrication of most of our jewelry, we make 1 ring at a time and often just in 1 size. If there is a particular ring you like on the website but it is not in your size, please contact us to determine if we can make the ring in the size you need. Custom rings and rings that have been custom-sized are not returnable.
Fine jewelry, especially handmade jewelry, may require repair or restoration over the years and from time to time. Please call or email to arrange for repair service. Repair charges are assessed once the item has been received and evaluated, and we will notify you of all repair costs prior to undertaking any repair work.
Please note that the need for a repair does not mean that jewelry is defective. Defective jewelry usually malfunctions right away with the first use or very soon thereafter, such as a defective clasp that does not stay closed. Fine jewelry can be delicate. Fine jewelry is typically made with soft precious metals and therefore repair and restoration might be needed or advisable over time as the piece is worn to keep it in top shape.
