About Kimberly Arpaia
Kimberly is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and Accredited Jewelry Professional, and earned further diplomas from GIA in Graduate Pearls, Graduate Diamonds, and Graduate Colored Stones. Kimberly also has completed GIA labs in diamond grading, colored stone grading, and gem identification.
After a fulfilling law career, Kimberly debuted her first collection of Arpaia Fine Jewelry on December 6, 2006, at former Robert Lang Jewelers, in Cheshire, CT. Several of these original designs, as well as works from other early Arpaia collections, can be viewed at ArpaiaFineJewelry.com and FancyBlackDiamonds.com.
Since 2006, Kimberly and Robert Lang delved into a journey of collaborative jewelry design and fabrication, and in 2011, the team launched a retail jewelry "salon" and design/fabrication studio in New Haven, CT. Though the owners were forced to closed shop in April 2014 when their lease was not renewed by the landlord in order to bring in a bigger tenant, they both still work in the trade and collaborate on projects when possible. Robert works in Florida, and Kimberly continues to enjoy life in Connecticut, creating one of a kind and limited edition handcrafted luxury women's jewelry for both the retail and wholesale markets.
GIA refers to the Gemological Institute of America.
